A NEW GUIDELINE Electronic devices that use lithium batteries and their importance.
As you may be aware, some lithium batteries could catch fire. Effective January 1, 2014, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) implemented new regulations that limit the transportation of specified lithium battery types, which are classified as “dangerous goods.” Even though not all lithium batteries are impacted by these rules, make sure to carefully compare the specs of your product with the limitations listed below.
NEW IATA RESTRICTIONS FROM 1.1.2014:
(“Wh” means Watts per hour)
LITHIUM ION BATTERIES with over 2.7 Wh and less than 100 Wh per battery and more than two batteries per box, or over 2.7 Wh and less than 100 Wh per battery and more than 8 cells per package.
LITHIUM METAL BATTERIES with over 0.3g lithium and less than 1g lithium per battery and more than two batteries per box, (or) over 0.3g lithium less than 1g lithium per battery and no more than 8 cells per box.
OTHERS RESTRICTIONS AND LIMITATIONS ARE:
Any lithium batteries (metal or ion) that are verified or believed to be faulty or damaged will not be shipped by us.
All electronic devices that fit into those categories will have their batteries screened at our export facility, and we won’t be allowed to ship any of them to you. This could require returning the item to the retailer.
CASH, MONEY AND RELATED ITEMS:
B2CShip strictly prohibits the shipment of various monetary and associated items. This includes cash in the form of banknotes and coins, traveler’s cheques, any monetary instrument in bearer form, as well as counterfeit or imitation money. Additionally, credit cards and credit card readers are also prohibited from being transported through B2CShip services. These measures are in place to ensure the safety and integrity of the shipping process, as well as to comply with legal regulations regarding the transportation of monetary instruments.
CIGARETTES & RELATED PRODUCTS:
B2CShip strictly prohibits the shipment of cigarettes and related tobacco products. This includes cigarettes, cigars, tobacco, and chewing tobacco. These items are not allowed for transportation through B2CShip services due to various regulations and safety concerns. By enforcing this prohibition, B2CShip aims to ensure compliance with legal restrictions and to prioritize the well-being of its customers and the general public.
DRUGS:
B2CShip strictly prohibits the shipment of various prohibited substances, including drugs and controlled chemicals. This encompasses narcotic drugs, unlicensed drugs such as synthetic cannabis often disguised as “herbal incense” or “potpourri,” and controlled chemicals that can be used in the production of dangerous drugs or psychotropic substances. Additionally, infectious substances are also not allowed for transportation through B2CShip services. These measures are in place to uphold legal regulations, ensure public safety, and prevent the illicit transportation of harmful substances.
FIREARMS AND WEAPONS:
B2CShip strictly prohibits the shipment of firearms, weapons, and related items for safety and legal compliance reasons. This includes various types of guns such as revolvers, rifles, pistols, and their parts, as well as starter pistols and rifle scopes. Additionally, ammunition and associated products like bullets are also not permitted for transportation through B2CShip services. These measures are in place to prevent the unauthorized shipping of dangerous items, ensuring the safety of both the shipping process and the general public.
OFFENSIVE WEAPONS INCLUDING:
B2CShip strictly prohibits the shipment of offensive weapons and imitation weapons due to safety concerns and legal regulations. Offensive weapons such as mace, pepper spray, stun guns, tasers, martial arts weapons, hand grenades, flick knives, throwing knives, and brass knuckles, also known as “knuckle dusters,” are not allowed for transportation through B2CShip services. Additionally, imitation weapons including toy guns, toy pistols, and toy grenades are also prohibited. These measures are implemented to prevent the unauthorized shipping of potentially harmful items, ensuring the safety and security of both the shipping process and the wider community.
GAMBLING ITEMS:
B2CShip prohibits the shipment of gambling items, including gambling equipment, apparatus, poker chips, and lottery tickets, along with similar prize tickets. These restrictions are in place to adhere to legal regulations and to prevent the transportation of items associated with gambling activities. Additionally, miscellaneous items falling under this category are also prohibited from being shipped through B2CShip services. These measures aim to maintain the integrity of the shipping process and to ensure compliance with relevant laws regarding the transportation of gambling-related items.
MISCELLANEOUS:
B2CShip strictly prohibits the shipment of various miscellaneous items for legal and safety reasons. This includes products and beverages containing alcohol, Philately Items as well as counterfeit or “pirated” goods that infringe upon intellectual property rights such as trademarks, copyrights, or patents. Additionally, documents and personal mail are not allowed for transportation through B2CShip services. Furthermore, the shipping of ashes or human remains is also prohibited. These measures are implemented to ensure compliance with laws and regulations, maintain the integrity of the shipping process, and uphold the safety and respect of individuals’ personal belongings and remains.
PERISHABLE PRODUCTS:
B2CShip strictly prohibits the shipment of perishable items and various related products for safety and logistical reasons. This includes frozen items requiring refrigeration, fresh flowers, living plants, trees, bushes, and seeds. Additionally, perishable foods such as cheese, milk, yogurt, eggs, meat, fish, and seafood are not allowed for transportation through B2CShip services. Furthermore, the shipment of specific items like darts, bows and arrows, and bayonets is also prohibited. These measures are in place to ensure the quality and integrity of the shipping process while preventing the transportation of items that may pose risks or logistical challenges.
EXPLOSIVE, TOXIC AND DANGEROUS PRODUCTS:
We strictly prohibit the shipment of explosive, toxic, and dangerous products for safety and regulatory compliance reasons. This encompasses a range of items including irradiating apparatus and radioactive materials, explosives such as gunpowder and dynamite, firecrackers, and fireworks. Additionally, items like fire extinguishers, asbestos, cigarette lighters, gas lighters, and poisons are also not allowed for transportation through B2CShip services. Each item falling under these categories must be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, considering specific ingredients and potential hazards. These measures are in place to safeguard the shipping process and prevent the transportation of items that could pose risks to individuals and property.
POTENTIALLY FLAMMABLE GOODS, INCLUDING:
B2CShip prohibits the shipment of potentially flammable goods and related items due to safety concerns and regulatory restrictions. This extensive list includes various products such as perfumes, colognes, eau de toilette, fragrance sprays, makeup remover, aftershave lotion, nail polish, nail polish remover, certain hair care products, and aerosols, including any product in an aerosol can. Additionally, compressed gas or gas cylinders, fuels like gasoline (petrol), gas torches, engine oil, motor oil, essential oil, lighters with fuel or lighter fluid, turpentine, paint thinner, household cleaners, paint, varnishes, stains, solvents, glue and adhesives, paintball tanks, guns, and grenades, printer toner cartridges, laboratory chemicals, chimney cleaner, drain cleaner, oven cleaner, bleach, pesticides, fungicides, chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), antifreeze, and various automotive products like brake fluid, coolants, degreasers, hydraulic fluid, power steering fluid, transmission fluid, vehicle cleaning solutions, and performance additives are also prohibited. These measures are implemented to prevent the transportation of hazardous materials and ensure the safety and integrity of the shipping process.
WEAPONS & WARFARE (EXPORT SPECIFICALLY PROHIBITED):
B2CShip prohibits the shipment of items classified under the category of weapons and warfare, with specific regulations regarding export compliance. Any items falling within this category must undergo a review process by the government agency responsible for export compliance. Depending on the agency’s decision, the product may be seized for further investigation, and shipped if deemed legally exportable, or customers will be notified to return it to the merchant, ship it to another domestic address, or dispose of it accordingly. These measures ensure adherence to legal regulations and prevent the unauthorized exportation of restricted items, maintaining the integrity of the shipping process and compliance with governmental export laws.
MUNITIONS OF WAR:
B2CShip strictly prohibits the shipment of items with the potential for use in chemical or biological weapons, missile technology, or nuclear proliferation. Additionally, any products specially designed, modified, adapted, or configured for military use, including “dual use” items with both commercial and military/police applications, are prohibited.
This encompasses various items such as projection telescopes for Super High Power Laser systems, handcuffs, batons, polygraph equipment, military helmets, Aircraft and aircraft parts, night vision gear, bulletproof clothing, nuclear material, Liquids & Semi-liquids, surveillance equipment, lasers, radar, sonar systems, specialized telecommunications equipment, spraying or fogging systems, and certain software designed for active flight control or cryptographic functions beyond authentication or digital signature. These stringent measures are in place to prevent the unauthorized transportation of items with military, security, or proliferation implications, ensuring compliance with legal regulations and maintaining the integrity of the shipping process.
We strictly prohibit the shipment of any goods subject to government export restrictions or requiring an export license, as well as items whose carriage is prohibited by the laws, statutes, or regulations of the country of origin, destination, or any country through which the shipment may transit. This includes items destined for countries such as Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, and any other nation subject to US or international embargoes. Additionally, shipments addressed to individuals or entities listed on US or international lists of prohibited persons and entities are not permitted. These measures are implemented to ensure compliance with legal regulations, prevent unauthorized exports, and uphold international trade standards, maintaining the integrity and legality of the shipping process.
